We’ve also put up a few quirky Boards – our Image of the Week, our professional qualification panel of 20 images, and our portfolio of our favourite and best Dorset and Hampshire wedding photography.

It’s all in the early stages at the moment. We are adding to Pinterest steadily and it is turning into a real resource for our brides and for people from around the world who drop by and like our stuff!

So it’s over to you, you can choose to follow all our Boards, comment on our photos, re-pin them to boards of your own, and generally fill your boots with inspiration.  If that even makes sense.

East Close Hotel Wedding Photography – Hayley & Vytas

In June we had a great time with East Close Hotel wedding photography.  It was the wedding of Hayley and Vytas who had chosen the gorgeous East Close Hotel for their special day.  The East  Close Hotel is just outside Christchurch on the road to Lyndhurst.

The first thing I did when I got to the East Close Hotel was to see how the girls were getting on.  Hayley was helped by her three bridesmaids Emma, Kristina, and Nicky.

Vytas and his best man Rob were also getting ready at the East Close Hotel.  I arrived just in time for some candid shots of the preparations.

The ceremony was in the Gallery Room.  This was decked out beautifully and has some lovely old mirrors on the walls which add light and character.  Vytas and Rob waited for Hayley who was walked up the aisle by her Dad.

After the wedding Hayley and Vytas’ guests enjoyed a drinks reception with Pimm’s, and we organised the group photos in the lovely gardens.  Then we went for a walk around the grounds for some East Close Hotel wedding photography.

Wedding Photography Christchurch Harbour Hotel

Wedding photography Christchurch Harbour Hotel is always great fun, and in this article I’d like to tell you the story of Sarah and Lloyd’s special day.  The Christchurch Harbour Hotel is a very stylish venue in a unique location on the shore of Christchurch Harbour, in the village of Mudeford a short walk from FourT4 Photography HQ.

View from the Christchurch Harbour Hotel overlooking the water

It was a huge honour for me because Sarah’s Dad had died very recently, and at short notice Sarah’s brother Andy, himself a terrific Dorset wedding photographer, had changed role from being a photographer. Now he had become the person giving Sarah away and supporting her on her big day.  Very generously Andy recommended me for Sarah and Lloyd’s wedding photography Christchurch Harbour Hotel, and after a meeting with me Sarah and Lloyd kindly agreed that I would be their photographer!

Christchurch Wedding Photographer – The Girls Getting Ready

I started in Christchurch with Sarah and the girls getting ready at her Mum’s house.  Sarah’s bridesmaids did a great job helping her to prepare.  I always love to be there when the flowers are delivered and to catch some photos of everyone’s reaction to a boxful of gorgeous bouquets and buttonholes being opened.  In Sarah’s case her colour theme was pink and cream roses and they looked so fresh!  Meanwhile Andy was dashing around ironing, putting on his tie, and getting himself ready so I had some great candid photos of all the preparations.  As the hour approached, two beautiful Jaguar Mark 2 saloons from Superwed Cars drew up outside, one white, one sky blue.  After some final portraits outside the house, we got in and headed to the Christchurch Harbour Hotel!

Wedding Photography Christchurch Harbour Hotel – The Guys Prepare

Meanwhile our good friend Howard Lucas was with Lloyd and the men as they got ready at the Christchurch Harbour Hotel.  Usually I can work alone but there are times when it really helps to have a second photographer, the most obvious being when I can’t physically be in two places at once!  This is most commonly the case when the girls and the guys are getting ready at the same time but in different places.  I love the way Howard’s style compliments mine to produce a consistent ‘look’ to our wedding photographs.  Howard got some great close ups of the guys getting ready, adjusting ties, sorting out buttonholes, and rounding up everyone for some more wedding photography Christchurch Harbour Hotel with a group photo on the hotel balcony!

Wedding Photography Christchurch Harbour Hotel – The Ceremony

The ceremony was very moving with readings from Lloyd’s mum and from Sarah’s brother Andy.  Again having two photographers during the ceremony is helpful because we can cover the same event from a variety of angles.  The ceremony room at the Christchurch Harbour Hotel is nice and light so the guests can be seen in the photos as well as the couple – this isn’t always the case with the darker Dorset wedding venues!  Sarah and Lloyd exchanged rings and vows overlooking Christchurch Harbour with their friends and family looking on.  I particularly love Howard’s telephoto shot of Sarah and Lloyd’s kiss.

Christchurch Harbour Hotel Wedding Photographer – Spending Time in the Sun

After the ceremony everybody made their way out into the warm sunshine for champagne and canapés in the gardens of the Christchurch Harbour Hotel, relaxing by the water’s edge and in the sun loungers!  Sarah and Lloyd mingled with their guests saying hello to everybody and receiving their congratulations.

The guests relaxing at the drinks reception for Sarah and Lloyd

After everyone had had some refreshment and a chance to talk to Sarah and Lloyd we found a lovely shady spot under a large pine where we could take some formal group photos from the hotel balcony overlooking the harbour.  This approach to wedding photography Christchurch Harbour Hotel kept everybody cool and also allowed for better control of the light rather than being out in the strong sunshine.  Poor Sarah felt a bit faint at this point so we took it easy – no point ordering everyone around if the people in the photo are uncomfortable!

Christchurch Harbour Hotel Wedding Photographer – Mudeford Quay Photo Shoot

After the group photos we piled into the Jag and popped around the corner to Mudeford Quay for a half hour photo shoot alongside the harbour.  Unfortunately the weather had turned cloudy by now but it was still nice and warm so we walked past the cottages and up to the seafront for some portraits.  This was great – so many people came up to congratulate Sarah and Lloyd and it really put them in a great mood for some fun portraits despite the clouds!

Christchurch Harbour Hotel Wedding Photographer – The Reception

With the harbour-side portraits completed we headed back to the hotel for Sarah and Lloyd’s reception.  The hotel had come up with a delicious buffet barbeque and everybody tucked in.  After the barbeque, toastmaster Bob McCarthy did an excellent job of steering people through the speeches and leading the toasts.

Finally, Sarah and Lloyd cut their beautiful wedding cake, a really simple three tiered design but set off by gorgeous pink roses.

There was time for a few more photos before the evening party, like this silhouette of Sarah and Lloyd against the harbour in the gathering gloom!

Wedding Photographer Christchurch Harbour Hotel – The Evening Party

For a wedding photographer Christchurch Harbour Hotel provides a lot of variety in terms of locations and lighting, and the evening party was no exception.  Held in the basement for noise reasons, Sarah and Lloyd had decorated the party with fairy lights and the disco added to the amazing lighting.

There was a huge cheer as Sarah and Lloyd took to the floor for their first dance!

Bournemouth Wedding Photography Langtry Manor

It was a great day to do some Bournemouth wedding photography at Langtry Manor!   Paula and Martin’s Bournemouth wedding at the Langtry Manor Hotel was going to be terrific fun and a day really in keeping with their personalities.

Langtry Manor Hotel in Bournemouth, a romantic wedding destination and a great venue for a wedding photographer Bournemouth

This was my second visit, I knew from my recce visit that Langtry Manor in Bournemouth was a beautiful venue with some really romantic historical charm.  Nowadays Langtry Manor is a boutique hotel in a quiet corner of Bournemouth, but behind the ornate Edwardian decadence is a royal romance with a whiff of scandal!  It’s one of the best places in town to be a wedding photographer Bournemouth.

Wedding Photographer Bournemouth – Getting Ready

I started the day with Paula and her bridesmaids, who were having a ball making the most of the lazy morning to get ready together.  Being there with a bride as she prepares for her wedding day is a real privilege because sometimes she can be feeling a little vulnerable and so it takes a bit of sensitivity to work out how each bride is feeling as I knock on the door.  Good for Paula and her bridesmaids they were having a fun and happy time so I got some fun candids as hair, make-up and nails were arranged to perfection.

A fun wedding photograph of Paula getting ready for her wedding!

Langtry Manor Wedding Photographer – The King’s Room

While this was going on I popped across the hall to the King’s Room where in the wonderful light streaming through the window I got some still life shots of the flowers and Paula’s stunning dress hanging on the door.  The King’s Room is truly gorgeous and I spent quite some time taking photos there to record all the little details of this beautiful hideaway.

Wedding Photographer Bournemouth – Final Touches at the Langtry Manor Hotel

As the preparations intensified there were some wonderful moments where the girls were lined up behind one another each doing the next girl’s hair or fixing a dress, which made for a lot of natural relaxed photos with a lot of interest.  Just the job for a wedding photographer Bournemouth!  Meanwhile, Martin and his best man put in an appearance, arriving outside the Langtry Manor Hotel in Martin’s immaculate Honda decked out with pink ribbon for the occasion!

While Martin and his groomsmen relaxed outside, I nipped back to catch the last few finishing touches to Paula’s outfit and then down she came with her Dad, ready for her wedding.

Langtry Manor Wedding Photography – The Ceremony

The weather was beautiful, dry and warm, so the ceremony was held in the garden gazebo.  It was especially moving because Paula lit a candle for her Mum who had passed away, and then as the ceremony finished the celebrations could start!  This is where having a professional wedding photographer Bournemouth meant that the guests could relax and enjoy themselves without too much hanging around.

Garden wedding ceremony at the Langtry Manor Hotel

We took a series of fun group shots on the red carpet while the guests enjoyed their Buck’s Fizz, and then it was time to go over to the nearby Langtry Lodge to continue the fun!  You can read more about the wedding reception in this post.

Bournemouth Wedding Photography – everything set up for the reception

Following the ceremony we headed over to Langtry Lodge, where Paula’s friends had made a huge effort to get the venue looking perfect for Paula and Martin’s wedding reception.  The tables were decked with butterflies and confetti, and each was named after a particular wine.  After getting some photos of the room setup and all the little details of the table settings for the reception, I stopped and lingered by the truly elegant cake, in three tiers with sugar flowers and a beautiful dancing couple as the cake topper.

Wedding Photography Langtry Manor – the wedding breakfast and the speeches

Paula and Martin came over and were touched by how beautiful everything looked, and invited all their guests to join them, by way of an emotional receiving line with a huge number of hugs.  Following a delicious meal the speeches started, beginning with a short but impromptu one from Nigel, a great effort from best man Doug, a quick speech from Martin, and a grand finale from Paula!

Langtry Manor wedding photographer – the evening party

After the speeches and toasts, everybody relaxed in the inviting gardens of Langtry Lodge and enjoyed the summer sun.  We took Paula and Martin away for a portrait session back at the Langtry Manor Hotel, using the gardens and also in the King’s Room.  This is one of the aspects of Bournemouth wedding photography I really enjoy, using the venue to its full potential.

Afterwards we headed back for some more fun in the gardens of Langtry Lodge.  Paula and Martin cut that beautiful cake together, and rounded off the fun with a terrific bouquet toss and a wonderfully romantic first dance.  Then as the evening drew in and the party got into gear I took my leave of Paula and Martin and headed home – congratulations Mr and Mrs Rowley and best wishes for a long and happy future together!  Thanks for letting me document your wonderful day through Bournemouth wedding photography!
