I started taking photographs when I was eleven, using an ancient
Russian Zenit that felt like it came from the tractor factory but
taught me so much. John Harvie and Simon Lawrence took off the rough edges and showed me how to develop
my creativity. I'm rarely without my camera - if I'm not
working, I'm usually wandering the New Forest or Purbeck, camera in
hand, drawing inspiration from the natural beauty around me.
But I always find photographing people the most fun and
rewarding aspect of being behind a camera, so wedding and portrait photography is a natural fit.
I love wedding photography for the simple reason I really enjoy weddings. Everyone looks terrific, and it's a beautiful and joyful occasion. It's an enormous privilege to share such a momentous day with each couple and capture the start of their married life. I first started shooting digital in '02, but it wasn't until four years later that digital cameras started to be capable of what I wanted from a professional camera. I use Canon equipment, and I'm constantly improving both my technique and kit to ensure that the quality of my wedding photography gets better all the time. I'm nearly 40 and am married with three children. |
